International as well as National Volunteers can volunteer on any field/s as below.
Educational Projects
- English Teaching :Many Himalayan families are trapped in a cycle of poverty. Living at subsistence level, parents need the labor of their children, particularly the girls, to help the family feed itself. This means that they cannot afford to release their children to attend school or college. By becoming a volunteer you will be able to make a direct and personal contribution to the education of young people in this country. In so doing, you will be having an unforgettable experience in a new and fascinating world. The system of teaching in Nepal is different. Volunteers do not need to use the same method. They will be encouraged to use their own teaching methodologies. Volunteers will stay with a Nepali family near school and will teach for about 2 to 3 hours daily for six days a week (Saturday is off). They will also be involved in teaching at youth clubs or a women’s group for informal education for 1 to 2 hours a day. School children will be 10 to 14 years of age and with basic understanding of English. Volunteers for this program will also be engaged to let the teachers know about teaching practice and improving conversational English to enable them for teaching English in the future. Volunteers will also be placed in an orphanage where they will assist the children in their day to day routine. The general role of volunteer will be to act as an older sibling; to care for, look after and encourage the children. Volunteers will teach the children general life skills. Including health and sanitation, as well as arts, crafts and music. They may also help the children with their schoolwork. Please note that only female volunteers are permitted at orphanage at present, and the placements are limited to three volunteers per month.
Note: Application is not accepted from June to July and October, as school remains closed for summer vacation and Dashin festival. Though for those volunteering for longer period of time, the festival does provide a great opportunity to interact with local culture. - Computer Training

Health Projects
- Volunteer in Health camps/Hospitals: Many people in village have never been in hospitals and many of them don't prefer to go to there and they keep hiding their dieses which in short future could be the reason of his/her death. But when we can offer the service on their doorsteps for free in one hand they get the treatment and other the access to the treatment which they could never afford in whole of their life. This occasional health camp helps those poor villagers to get rid of their life time dieses. And on the other hand hospitals are the place where people come for treatment but in many cases they are left lied on the floor without the thing they need the most, because neither the hospital can offer everything for free nor any donor finds the patient at the right time, TEAM Nepal has managed an emergency fund for those having financial problem for treatment. And we through the partnership with the hospitals are coordinating to provide them the free treatment (without the medicine costs). We will place international volunteers on different posts of volunteering depending upon their education and experience.
- Community Awareness: Due to the lack of knowledge people in village are suffering from different kind of unexpected health as well as other social problems. All the people around the rural parts follow old traditional ways of life and practice. Most of those practices are harmful for health and barrier for the development of community.
Volunteers will analysis the problem and need of community first and then prepare the plan to give the community needed awareness and education. They will teach the community and make them aware respecting their traditional practices and thinking. While teaching and community involvement volunteers have to give emphasis on female education and empowerment. They will also provide first aid information in the local village. Volunteers will also teach health education involving the youth clubs or a women group in the community about health and sanitation. You will also provide first aid information in the local village to the local people. We prefer medical student as volunteer for this program however we do accept other with some experience in this area.
- Primary Health Care: Nepal is one of the most underdeveloped countries in the world. Approximately ninety percent of its over 23 million people live in rural villages, many of which are completely inaccessible by road or air. Given this adverse topography, it is not surprising that the health conditions in Nepal are among the poorest in the world. The mission of TEAM Nepal Organization is to provide primary health care education and healthy environment to people living in remote area. We accomplish our mission by creating and supporting programs that provide health care, including prenatal care and treatment of infectious illnesses, education programs, and income generation opportunities with the help of national as well as international volunteers. Volunteers shall be of medical field or having basic knowledge about primary health care and first aid. TEAM Nepal encourages local as well as international participation and involvement in all of its programs to ensure sustainability of benefits. In many Regions of Nepal the Center for Primary Health Care is established to help communities respond to health needs. It advances the ability of health systems, communities and individuals to effectively respond to health needs through the application of primary health care principles. The principles applied to advance health include consumer and community participation, self-management and reliance, intersectional collaboration and partnerships, prevention, health promotion and integrated care. The principles require the search for a balance between macro and local needs and between short and longer-term gains in health, recognition of the inequalities in health between groups and in access to policy development and resource allocation processes.
